Tell us about your background
I'm not a scientist or an engineer, but I am a huge ocean enthusiast, an avid diver, and someone who is driven by insatiable curiosity. I used to be a global macro hedge fund manager, so I’m used to problem-solving and first-principles thinking, and I’m especially focused on risk management. I’m no stranger navigating complex challenges, having worked in senior investment roles at hedge funds and tier 1 banks, and I apply this mindset to realising DEEP’s mission.
What’s your role at DEEP?
My job is to narrow the gap between people and the sea. As President and Chief Commercial Officer of DEEP, my role is to deliver our pioneering technologies to the world, building the DEEP brand and deepening our strategic network. I joined DEEP full-time in summer 2023 as we secured DNV approval in principle, and since then, my mission has been to make sure people think of DEEP when talking about how we explore, protect, and steward the ocean.
What's your favourite thing about working at DEEP?
I love learning from the brilliant scientists and engineers I work with every day. Their expertise fuels my curiosity, and it’s a privilege to be part of a team so committed to thoughtful innovation and impact.
