DEEP Campus

DEEP Campus is an unrivalled center for underwater training and innovation in the Southwest of the UK. At the heart of a secure and private 50-acre site is a body of fresh water measuring 600 meters in length and up to 80 meters in depth. It is complemented with onsite test equipment, accommodation, engineering facilities and shore support services. Together these enable year-round training, testing, and trials.

Technical training
A controlled body of water for advanced underwater training

With the only closed bell diving system in the Northern Hemisphere, DEEP Campus offers comprehensive saturation diving training, preparing individuals for the real-world conditions of deep-sea operations.

Further training courses include habitat diving, professional scuba and surface-supply systems, rebreather and nitrox specializations, and Diver Medic Training.

As well as providing a private and enclosed dive training location, DEEP Campus can be used for spaceflight training and simulating submersible emergency operations.

Unique location
A one-of-a-kind environment for testing underwater equipment and filming for the big screen

The sheltered clear water lake covering 25,000m2 is well suited to testing subsea equipment, including remote and autonomous underwater vehicles.

There is year-round access to the private body of water, which also serves as an ideal filming location for water scenes for TV or movies.

DEEP Campus has a range of on-water and shoreside facilities, including onsite accommodation and catering for visiting groups.

Research and innovation
Assets available to support a range of scientific testing and studies

The subsea science equipment at DEEP Campus is available for collaboration with the academic and research communities.

Assets include a wave and current tank, a dive tank, pressure facilities to simulate the extreme pressure under the ocean, a materials laboratory for testing the quality and reliability of subsea materials, and a voltage chamber for testing subsea electrical equipment.
